Official Rules: Up and Down the River

  1. Deal. Four cards face up to every player, dealer included. Two decks for six or more players. Only rank matters.
  2. Up the river. The dealer turns four cards. Match one, and you take drinks: 1, then 2, then 3, then 4.
  3. Down the river. Four more cards. Match one, and you give drinks: 4, then 3, then 2, then 1.
  4. Two matches? Drink, or give, for each.
  5. Next round. Shuffle, and the deal passes left.
